By practice
Work with named rules and explicit calculations
Traditional astrology brings together several historical approaches. Solar Fire X provides selected dignity, almuten, Lot and period calculations for practitioners who want to examine those techniques within a chart workflow.
In practice
Tools for your method
Inspect dignities and almutens
Apply a selected scheme and inspect the resulting table or report. Essential dignity concerns zodiacal condition; accidental considerations involve other circumstances, including angularity.
Keep the scheme visible. A total calculated under one rule set should not be treated as a universal judgement across traditions.
Make the Lot formula explicit
Arabic Parts, also called Lots, use defined combinations of chart factors. Formula choices and day/night conventions can change the result.
Record the named Lot, its formula, the inputs and the resulting longitude. The formula tools provide a calculation to inspect against the rules of the method being followed.
Examine period techniques
Zodiacal Releasing provides period listings from Fortune, Spirit or a user-selected starting choice. Read the sequence alongside the chart and the conventions of your practice.
Direction calculations provide another timing family where relevant. Identify the method and assumptions when comparing results from different techniques.
Keep calculation and judgement connected
A useful example begins with a specified chart, shows the selected conditions and Lot formula, then explains how the practitioner reads the results. Tables and period listings supply material for that judgement.
Ask about the particular scheme, formula or timing variant you need. Selected traditional tools do not establish coverage of every historical rule.
